I am a 21-year-old clinic operator from Estill County, Kentucky. I am building 15 pediatric clinics across the state's shortage counties, and behind them, a nonprofit for foster and vulnerable kids. This is who I am and why.

I am John Maupin. I operate a pediatric clinic in the county I come from, and I am spending my twenties building healthcare where there was none. Not because it is a business opportunity. Because I remember what it feels like when help never comes.

01 · Where I come from
I know what it is to be the kid the system misses.
I grew up in rural Kentucky, in the kind of childhood you would not wish on anyone. I am not going to perform the details here. What matters is what it taught me: what it feels like when nobody is coming, and what one steady adult, one open door, one person who shows up can change.
Some kids in these hills have never seen a doctor. Not once. Not for a fever, not for a checkup. I was a kid the system missed, so I am building the thing I needed.

02 · What holds it together
God first. Family second. The work third.
Faith is not a section of my life, it is the operating system. It sets the order, and when the order is right, the work gets better, not worse. I lead from my knees before I lead from my desk.
Family is the reason, not the obstacle. And the calling is simple to say and hard to do: serve as many kids as one life can reach.

At 21 I operate A+ Pediatrics, a Rural Health Clinic in Estill County that I helped rebuild from barely surviving to genuinely healthy. It is the medical home for thousands of local kids, and the proof behind everything that comes next.

Every business I build points at one thing: a nonprofit for foster children and kids who have been abused, neglected, or left behind. What the clinics earn does not exist to buy a bigger life. It exists so that no kid out here grows up the way I did, alone with it.
That is who I am. Not a portfolio. A purpose with a plan under it.
